Why I don't get my alert messges?

No matter what site i was visiting if I got mail I would get a sound alert. Now all of a sudden I don't. When i go to my Outlook Express INBOX that's when the alert sounds, at that point I don't need an alert as I can see the new mail listed in the INBOX. Getting mail is very important to me as my family lives far away & we like to be in close contact. THANK YOU, JENNIE

P.S. I had this problem when i had Win98 , i recently upgraded to WinXP & the problem continues plus my spell checker does not work with WinXP

To receive audio notification of new messages

On the Tools menu, click Options

On the General tab, select the Play sound when new messages arrive check box

To customize the way your spelling checker works, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then select the Spelling tab.
