What causes my computer clock to gain a 1/2 hour eveyday?

FYI, I used to go to Chandler-Gilbert Community College and took a help desk class where I answered questions like this. This one has me stumped. My computer clock runs fast! It gains over 1/2 hr every day. The motherboard is brand newm and is top-of-the-line Asus A7N8X. Asus website does not respond to my question. I know what causes a slow clock, but a fast one??

It has to be your CMos battery Weather you clock is slow or fast it usually your battery Try changing it.
