To work around this issue, search your hard disk for all instances of the Mfc42.dll file, and if there are multiple instances of this file, rename all of them except the one that is located in the Windows\System folder:

Click Start, click Find or Search, and then click Files or Folders.

In the Named box, type mfc42.dll.

In the Look in box, click Local Hard Drives.

Click Find Now.

Right-click any Mfc42.dll file that is not in the Windows\System folder, and then click Rename.

Type Mfc42.old, and then press ENTER.

Repeat step 5 until all instances of the Mfc42.dll file (except the one that is located in the Windows\System folder) are renamed.
