I was recently given a ViewSonic GS815 Graphics Series monitor which was working when they last used it. When I hooked it to my computer it powers on, but there is just a horizontal line across the screen. When attempting to use the adjustment controls, I can see different colors flashin the line, but cannot get it to do anything else. I received no driver disk or manual, have gone to the manufacturer's web site, downloaded drivers, but still have no idea on how to set this monitor up or how the controls on the front work. The web site did not offer much advise since this model is not current, it was manufactured September of 2000. I have a new video card I can use if this monitor will work. I guess my question is will this monitor work and if so, how do I get it set up? If not, is it economically feasible to have itrepaired?

Check all connections to the monitor, the power cord and the cord to the PC, CHeck the video card, re-install it or replace with the new one and load the drivers If you're still having the same problem, try another monitor and compare results, if the replaced monitor has no problems, that monitor hs gone bad.
