Why the battery isnt working?

I had my laptop battery recondition. Now my computer shows the battery 100% charged all the time even when it is discharging. My computer will shut down after the battery has discharged and when I plug it in and restart my computer, the battery will still show 100% charged. The charge light just flashes as if it is just doing a trickle charge. I have updated the bios from Compaq.
