I have a HP 6127 printer on the way. It has USB and a Network conectivity.

I have a Home Lan with a Linksys router.

What are the benifits of connecting the Printer to My home LAN?

If I use the USB connection I can still print from any computer using file and printer sharing.

what if any benifits would I get by using the built in Lan connection on the Printer?

The Lan configuration seems a hassle compaired to the USB which is basically plug it in the USB port and pop in the CD.

Are there any real benifits to using the Network connection?

The benefits of connecting your printer to your home Lan is that it allows others users on your Lan to print using your printer

Unless you have a USB connector on your router your printer wouldn't be able to be connected to the router.

Usually if you dont have usb connectors on your router the printer would be connected to a USB connecter on one of your computers in yopur home lan.

Since you have a network type connection on your printer it will bring you great benefits.

The one benefit that will be shown immediately is you dont have to connect your printer to a computer on the network, you can connect it directly to the router on your home lan allowing for other computers to independently print documents with out having to depend on the main computer being turned on to print.
