Go back into your Device Manager in your systems information box, and check to see if what conflicts your having, you may be experiencing one of the following conflicts DMA channel, I/O address or an IRQ number conflct./ Shut down your computer and open up your tower and re-install your audio card in another slot, and make sure your audio cables are connected to the cd-rom Close your tower and restart your computer if your drivers are still installed you should hear sound from your windows start up menu, if not, re-install thedrivers from the windows 98 cd-rom If problem still exist try a new card and drivers
