I removed "PCI Bus" from system and rebooted to let laptop reinstall these items in an effort to get cd-r to work again. Now in this process laptop asks for disk labeled "CSP.cab"

I have no idea where to find this file. Where is it located?

This "PCI Bus" in system devices is a plug and play device, go to add new hardware and see if you can replace this hardware, if not you might have to use the Windows 98 cd-rom to reinstall the device along with the drivers.
