I have an audio problem. First let me explain how it happened. About 2 weeks ago somehow windows 98 got deleted and was reinstalled, but their is no sound whatsoever. Volume control icon on the taskbar isn't there and we checked the sound properties and their ok. So we tried installing a driver, but when I try a message comes up and says to insert windows 98second edition CD-ROM and I do not have it. I have tried to download drivers, but none work. Also the sound card is part of the motherboard. Can you please help me.

Actually to solve your problem you do not need the Windows 98 SE CD.

If you have the cd that should have came with your computers motherboard your audio driver should be on that cd And you can install it from there.

If you do not since your sound card is built into your motherboard go to your motherboards

manufactures website and download a Windows 98 Se audio driver from their website.
