I have upgraded to xp professional from windows 98. On windows 98 i had installed plus! 98 and all of my themes worked fine. After I upgraded to xp, plus! 98 was not on the add-remove programs list, so i just deleted its folder, which i should not have done. I don't know if that is the cause of my problem, but whenever i try to chnge my theme, the background, mouse pointers, screensaver, and sounds do not change, only the taskbar and start menu colors. I need to know how i can make themes work again on xp.

Ok what you need to do is what you call a launch system restore my go to start, run type in MSCONFIG then you will see a button that says launch system restore click on it, then you will follow the prompt then you will have to pick a day on the calander the day before you uninstalled the folder or close to that date but dont go back to far cause then you wont have the upgrade you installed in the computer.
