Why the games keeps freezing up?

While playing Dark Reign 2 Game the system freezes up. The only way to get out is reset the system. This has only started a fair way into the game. I have re-installed the game a couple of times, it seems to fix the problem but freezes up a little further into the game. The game loads ok with no problem. I have tried reducing the graphic settings of the game from maximum to Minimum, but it does not help.

Any help would be appreciated.
