Lately, at times I cannot launch Internet Explore 6.0 , the hourglass appears and then disappears without starting the app. When I look at task manager a number of Iexplorer tasks appear. I can shut down all of the Iexplorer instances but the app still will not actually start. This can happen on both sessions where I have actually previously launched IE and fresh boots.
When do get IE going, my system will often lock up for what seems like no reason. I have eliminated most of the Browser Helper Objects using BHODemon but the problem persists.

Go to Add/Remove programs in your control panel and remove Internet Explore 6.0 and reinstall it again That might work Good Luck!
