HI

My cdr drive on XP recently stopped working. It reads cds and all the sytem checks say it is working properly but when i try to use the XP cd copying wizard it comes up please insert a cdr even though there is. Also it WMP wont detecta cdr device for copying music. The same problem has happened to my home PCwhich makes me belive it is a windows problem other than a mechanical fault. Have you any idea what has happened?

Cheers

What I would suggest you do is unistall the program burning software that came with your Cd R and reinstall it.. Also reinstall the drivers for your CD R...this will reset all conflicts that you hardware is having..

Also when it comes to your Windows Media Player...the function of copy cds will not work if your CD R is not functioning properly...you can copy them to your hard drive but not the CDR

Try the above suggestions to assist you with your problem.
