My hard drive stopped and a white line appeared across the middle of my monitor.

When I boot my computer it will get to the desktop, then the HD will stop and the monitor will go black except for a white line across the middle.

Try using a another monitor...

The only suggestion I can give you is to verify that your video card is working properly When video cards go bad thats the natural reaction it will give you...If that is the case you eill have to replace it with a new one
