Why is it that when I try to print i get a message that the printer port LPT: can not access port?

i got a printer canon bjc 4300ex

i installed it and everything is fine except when i print

i get a message that the printer port LPT: can not access port

i check the device manager and it is all working fine

i dont know what program is blocking the port

and keeping me from printing

can you help

Have a look at 'controlpanel/system' and see what is connected to that LPT It is possible you have something else hooked up to that LPT without realizing it If you have then remove it or attach it to something else or some other solution which will prevent the conflict
