computer wont boot up monitor stays on self test and then goes into sleep mode also tried a new video card and still nothing

It wouldnt be your video card that is causing this problem...because your monitor is working and displaying a message to you...make sure that all the cables inside of your computer are properly connected to your motherboard If all fails you might have a power supply that needs to be changed or a improperly installed component in your computer.
