The system will stall after boot-up and post screen. Where one would expect to see the Windows XP screen you get a blank screen, or and error message that windows cannot start because a file is corrupt or missing. It is never the same file twice. Any idea what could be causing this?

When that message is displayed it means your operating system is corrupt.

Do the folowing:

Pop in your Windows XP CD....

Let the operating system load

Press to boot from the cd option

At this time the system will load and ask you if you want to perform a clean installation or repair a installation.

Select the option to repair a current installation and follow the steps to configure your system

Once everthing is configure syou shouldnt get the error again.
