My computer will only display 16 colors

My computer will only display 16 colors. I tried to change and the computer does nothing.

Can it be my video card?

If the computer starts in the low-res 16 colors mode, even though you were using a higher resolution and you did not start the computer in VGA or safe mode, you might be experiencing one of the following problems:

1) your AGP display adapteris not assigned an IRQ in the system BIOS

2) Windows cannot identify your display adapter

3) Your display drivers might be corrupted
