The problem I am having is that intermittently when turning the pc on I get a boot failure error message. It looks like it can't find the harddrive and is going to the "A" drive. Most times, all I have to do is turn the machine off, wait a while and turn it back on and it boots with no problems. Every once in awhile I have to go through this procedure two or three times.

I am wondering if the BIOS (ROM) is going bad or could it be the hard drive is going bad. The machine is about 4-5 years old.

By the way, you have "sentence" spelled "sentance" in step 2 or 3 (can't remember).

Thank you for your help.

Stan

ok u may want to try to boot your cpu with the boot disk and if the problem still occur u may also want to add memory to your cpu that might be what is causing your computer not to boot it might not be able to read the information properly.
