all your answers regarding scandisk and defrag are the same. you cannot fix the problem ...you merely work around the problem.alt/ctrl/delete... safe mode etc... cut the chase and address the problem of why the pc cant do its job. just like when i asked about the five dates listed in scanreg to restore from. these dates are two years old. ive asked you several times about this issue and no reply. like being put on hold for two years on your radio show. in scanreg i would like more recent dates to restore from. could you possibly have an answer ?

To restore your regisrtry in Windows 98, you must resatrt your computer in MS-DOS mode.
At the prompt type "scanreg/restore" and you will come to the Microsoft Registry checker, there will be four dates with a .CAB extension to them, choose one to restore your system and then restart your computer
