I have an Asus A7V motherboard that had a Duron 700Mhz processor in it and 128MB PC 133 RAM. I switched to an Athlon Thunderbird 1.1 Ghz processor and added 256MB of PC 133. When I push the power button all of the fans spin and the hard drive lights work but their is no boot up screen. Just a blank screen. No beeps. If I hit the reset button everything starts up okay. So as long as I work from a reset I can do anything. I've installed windows and set up the hard drive without any problems. So it doesn't seem to be a CPU problem. I upgraded the power supply to an Athlon approved 350 watt supply, as well. I also reseated the video card and even replaced it with another known good one and the problem still happens. I have also reseated the RAM, which seems to be detected in the BIOS settings accurately. Any suggestions?

Check your hard drive for the correct configurations such as master and slave and the IDE configurations this may be a longshot, but you never know Start your computer in safe mode and check device manager for conflicts You say you have to hit the reset button and then system is fine, check your power connections to the mother board, and try another monitor
