My problem started when I run Regedit and restored an older back-up of my registry. After restarting, I noticed that my browsers (IE 6 and Netscape) Can't detect an internet connection and my E-mail clients (Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express) can't find and connect to my mail server even though I have already connected to the internet via dial-up networking. Any other software that such as Windows messaging and mirc cant detect an internet conection either. any help on this matter will be highly appreciated

Your system always keeps a backup copy of your registry configuration (including user account information, protocol bindings, software program settings, and user preferences) You can use the backup copy if your current registry encounters a problem Each time you restart your computer, Registry Checker automatically scans your registry If Registry Checker notices a problem, it automatically replaces the registry with the backup copy
Go to the modem properties in control panel and check the diagnostics, and see if the modem is installed in your system and driver information You may need to troubleshoot your modem Thru the modem properties and device manager Check for the correct protocols and make sure your line is connected o the modem.
