Why won;t my keyboard powerup?

When i shut down my computer the keyboard somtimes has not powered up.I usually have to power off,unplug the keyboard,plug it back in and powerup.It is a new keyboard,specifically for windowsME.I have also tried reinstalling the driver.Any ideas on this?Thanks.

What is your keyboard connector? Is it ps/2 or usb Chances are it's UBS In that case you should troubleshoot by pluggin the keyboard into a different usb port If you are getting the same problem i would recommend you return the keyboard to the store for an exchange The reason I say this is because a lot of the time the usb keyboard connector may be damaged

Note:: You may also get this problem if you're keyboard is using usb 2.0 and your computer only supports usb 1.0
