I will suddenly lose control of the mouse

While using my computer I will suddenly lose control of the mouse and screens will start appearing as if I had clicked on them. I will have to alt-ctrl-delete and reboot. It happens pretty frequently.

Do I need a new mouse?

Go into your mouse properties, and select motion, check the speed and and make sure you don't have smart move enable, this will automatically go to a box and open up a page.
