Why I can't print text?

Why does my computer not print text, I have a compaq IJ1200 series printer with Windows XP, is that why, and if so, how do I solve this.

Starting the Printing Troubleshooter

start the Printing Troubleshooter by using these steps Click Start, and then click Help and Support.

Under Pick a Help Topic, click Fixing a problem.

In the left pane, click Printing problems.

In the right pane, click Printing Troubleshooter.

If the page will not print as you see it on the screen, there is a way you can print just the text of the page (no pictures or graphics) Select File from your menu bar, and choose Save As In the Save As dialogue box, select 'Plain text' as your file type, and then choose a temporary file name (such as page1.txt) You can now open and print the file using your word processor
