I am having trouble with my CD Writer drive

I am having trouble with my CD Writer drive. Each time I open it and close it back it locks and the computer will not recognize that a disk in the drive.

There could be two possible issues:

One the cd your putting into the drive is not compatible with your Cd Writer...

But I dont think thats the case...what you going to have to is uninstall and reinstall the software that came with your writer....theres a possibility you are experienceing driver conflicts...try updating your Cd Writer drivers

Double click the my computer icon on your desktop....

Right click the icon that represents your Cd Writers drive , scroll down and click properties

Once there click on the hard ware tab and click the option to reinstall your driver or update your drivers

Once you reinstall or update your drivers , your driver will read the cds
