How to resolve cpu freezes at bootup?

Recently I have installed Norton systemworks 2003 and although the whole programme

works fine the problem is that when I start the computer it locks or freezes when soon into

the loading process.The only way to overcome this is to switch the computer off and reboot

which after scandisk runs for improper shutdown it always loads with any trouble.

This locking does not occur every time I switch on, maybe every other time.

Along time ago I customized startup by inserting an image during the loading process and when it freezes this image (from the microsoft clip gallery) is displayed. Thank you for any

Ask a hardware dealer to check whether the CPU fan status U could be having a freeze due to a non working fan which could be heating up the processor which in turn to protect the board being affected, freezes ur machine This in most cases is the cause of this problem
