MOUSE PROBLEMS. I've had two problems: once, when the mouse wouldn't work at all and the pointer just stuck where it was on the screen; another time, when it would only move the pointer very jerkily and erratically. What can I do to correct this prblem any help is good.

Solutions: the first one was easily solved: its connecting plug had come out so just needed re-attaching (switch the computer off first) The second was caused by dirt building up on the mouse's internal rollers, so that they wouldn't turn properly You can reach them by unscrewing the ring in the bottom of the mouse and letting the ball drop out into your hand The hard accumulated gunk on the rollers can then be scraped off with a penknife.

Although using an object like a penknife will work, it also roughens the surface, actually causing it to pick up more gunk faster I've found that a swab (Q-tip) dampened lightly with rubbing alcohol works well, and the alcohol evaporates quickly, allowing you to go back to work soon! :) It also helps to keep the mouse pad clean, so I often shake it, and once a month or so, wipe it with a damp rag Hope that works for you Have fun.
