I have a Dell computer and would like to know, How do I access the System Restore tab in the Microsoft Windows XP operating system?

This question was answered on March 26, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

Click the Start button, right-click your mouse on My Computer, and then left-click Properties from the menu

The System Properties window appears

Click the System Restore tab to display the System Restore configuration settings

There are two parameters for System Restore that can be configured here: the amount of disk space System Restore uses, and whether or not System Restore is enabled on this system

To change the amount of disk space System Restore uses, adjust the Disk Space to use slider bar until the desired percentage of disk space is reached

NOTE: To disable System Restore, click the check box to select Turn Off System Restore If you do this, you will not be able to use this system utility to restore your system to a previous state if your system becomes unstable
