What to do when cable link to internet keeps dissconnecting?

cable link to internet keeps disconnecting when computer is not in use a short period of time. This requires manual removal of power to the cable modem and router turining off computers and then powering up modem, router and computers each time to resync to internet. What is happening?

Yous said cable link right? If this is so you will have to check with you ISP to determine the connection shortage first before troubleshooting the modem.
