Why do I get a disk error everytime I start my computer?

When I start my computer, why do I get a Disk Error or Non-system Disk error? The thing is there's no disk in the drive so, what is going on?

Why should I shut down my computer every night? Everybdy say to do that cause it won't burn out the computer. Is that true?
