On boot up before POST I get:

"Windows cannot figure what configuration your computer is in. Select one of the following:

1. Origional configuration

2. Configuration

3. None of the Above"

It proceeds the same way no matter if I use 1, 2, or 3.

What is it? How can I get rid of it?

Many thanks!!!

Seems to me like you have a small virus playing around in your computer Try pressing F8 while the computer is booting If that works then select the first option from the list If you have no luck picking the first option then pick the option to start windows in safe mode.

I suggest installing an antivirus such as McAfee and have it scan your hard drive.

Also run scan disk >> double click my computer -> right click your C:\ drive -> select properties --> click the tools tab --> run scandisk from there.

I hope this helps.
