My wife and I have two computers connected to the internet in a room in our home with a ten foot long crossover cable. Working late one night I decides to move one computer to a location in the house about fifteen feet from the other computer. Unfortunately the cable will not reach from the other computer. I searched the house and cannot find a cable longer than ten feet. However, I do find that there is a package of five ten foot crossover cables and a package of five standard network cable couplers in a closet. Can I connect his computers so that we will be able to network using these items without rewiring any of them? If so, specifically what items will I finally use to connect the computers? If I cannot connect the computers, why not?
