WHAT TO DO WHEN THE MIC DOESNT SOUND CLEAR?

I have downloaded MS updates and now the mic sounds crackerly and can not hear it very well.

This question was answered on March 31, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

1 A possible problem could be the device drivers where not fully install.

In order to check this you have to reinstall the MS updates.

2 If the mic still has problems check your VOLUME CONTROL options than can be reach by going to the START menu, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, ENTERTAINMENT, choose volume control the volume control window will open and the following options will appear (WAVE, SW Synch, Mic Volume, Line In, CD Audio) see if the mute check box are checked and adjust the settings to see if it sounds clear.
