i want to know if there is a way to "restore" or retrieve files that i have deleted in the past .... yes i am using windows ME but i could not restore it and i have gone into DOS and entered the command scandisk/restore but as you should know that it only restores a 5 day period and i deleted these file a while before that. So i was wondering if i have any other options are available. by the way the files are mp3's and mpeg's. thank your very much

Normally when you delete something it will first go to your Recycle Bin If you haven't deleted it from your Recycle Bin yet then it should still be in there All you will have to do is double click on the Recycle Bin on your Desktop and select the files that you want to restore Right click and click 'Restore'

If you already deleted it from your Recycle Bin then you might be able to use a data recovery software as long as the data hasn't yet been overwritten.

This site could get you started on that: http://www1.finaldata.com/

Be aware that there are many more utilities that do the same thing You may want to look around before you settle for one.

Try searching data recovery in google.com

and download.com http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=data recovery&tg=dl-2001

I hope this helps
