I have a Dell Dimension 8250 PC and a Dell Inspiron 2650 Lap top both have windows xp operating systems. I have been trying to down load my address book from out look express from the PC to the Laptop. I down loaded the address book to a floppy disc. However when ever I put the disc in the laptop and try to down load it into out look express it appears that the disc is blank. I put it back in the Pc and open it up under the A:/ drive and it shows all my addresses. What am I doing wrong. How do I get that address book from the PC to the Laptop.

Thank you for your help.

There is a great possibility that the file has the 'hidden' setting on and the windows XP in your Dimension PC is set to make hidden files visible So that would explain why you're able to see it from your Dimension machine and not from your Inspiron Laptop.

1 Right click on the file that you want to copy and click properties.

2 From the Attributes section in the General tab: uncheck 'Hidden'

3 click OK

Save the file into your Floppy disk and put it into your Inspiron laptop.

I hope this helps.
