My Compaq Presario 2700 laptop has been working fine for many months. Yesterday I turned it off in haste as I left home, and when I came back I saw the on light blinking. If I'm not mistaken that means I had somehow put it into standby mode, which I didn't realize at the time. I tried many ways to get my screen back, with no success. It is black to this moment. What might have happened. Ctrl-Alt-Del does not reboot the computer. It continues to be on, apparently - occasionally I hear it make some of its internal clicking sounds - and I can't turn it off, or anything!!! Help!!! Is there a "reset" button like my Palm Pilot has?

If screen turns on, yu may get an error message emplying that the unit was turn off incorrectly.
