I use IncrediMail, an e-mail manager, but also have access to Outlook Express through my ISP. However, all of the sudden, everytime I try to open IncrediMail, an icon comes up and tells me that an illegal operation has occured, and the site will not open. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IncrediMail, and no change. I have also tried to open Outlook Express and an icon comes up saying that a MSO(? I don't recall the exact file) file is missing and cannot be opened.

I also recently had a new ATI Radeon 7500 series, 64MB video card and have had problems with the video deteriorating daily. I have been going into Device Manager and removing the card, and then the drivers reinstall upon start up. Pain in the butt, but it restores the picture.

Could the problems with the e-mail managers be related to the video card problems? I had had a host of problems with error messages a couple of months ago until I ran spybot and ad-aware and cleared my system from some unwanted spyware that had infiltrated, but that seemed to clear the problem up, until about a week ago, when I tried to open IncrediMail. I have also started to have problems with the computer 'hanging up' when I try and shut down. Sometimes it just won't shut off without rebooting manually. These problems all began to occur around the same time, so I am assuming they may be related. Help! By the way, another problem, since I had my system built, I never received an actual CD for my operating system, Windows 98 SE. I also never got a license, although I did ask for one, I was told it wasnt necessary. That was a couple of years ago and at the time, I didn't realize that I had been sold a bootleg system. I asked them for a copy but am told to just bring it in and they will fix the problem. I don't know what to do. I made a copy from my hard drive, but not right away, and now I am concerned that the copy I made might have corrupt files on it. I don't know what direction to turn in, and thought I would try and troubleshoot as much as possible and I like your site. I have offered as much information as I think might help you access my quandary, without confusing you. Thanks so much for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Jbaker

Incredimail is loaded with spyware, and you probably removed some that it depended on I suggest you forget Incredimail

If you still think you want to use Incredimail, go read their terms of service Note that they reserve the right to do ANYTHING they like with your email, including, but not limited to, stealing any idea, publishing it, etc.
