Internet connections.

When I connect my computer to the phoneline it starts to dial a number, fotunately its an invalid number. I have formated my D: drive (second hard disk) and restored with the restore disk the original harddrive. It still does it. Even if I disable the modem in the userprofile it does it. Any tips?

Checck on your internet connections

Look up your dial up profile.

your may have to reset your account if possible.

enable the modem as well.

Also check your NIC connection beetrween the phone line and the NIC card.
