How can I increase the speed with which graphic images are displayed as well as performance of graphics in general in Windows XP.

Increasing Graphics Performance

By default, WindowsXP turns on a lot of shadows, fades, slides etc to menu items.

Most of these options simply slow down the display.

To turn these off selectively:

1 Right click on the My Computer icon

2 Select Properties

3 Click on the Advanced tab

4 Under Performance, click on the Settings button

5 To turn them all off, select 'Adjust for best performance'

           or

Select 'Custom' to pick & choose which items you want on.
