What is Memory?

Whenever i run a program reagardless of what it is my computer uses 100% CPU and only 30MB ram.

I want the computer to use less CPU so it will stop burning me and more RAM.

Programs like Virtual Dub, Windows Movie Maker, Real Player Producer, TMPG, Graphedit etc. etc.

Games with 3d effects are also slowed to a grinding pain in the ass.
