i have a pentium 2 motherboard with a 300mhz processor i have been trying to put a 30gb harddisk in to this computer, when i try to change the bios to suit the harddisk it doesn,t recognise it.

i even tryed changing the bios to auto harddisk and tryed to start computer and it said harddisk fail.

i have tried the harddisk on another computer and it booted up fine.

the harddisk that i had in the computer before tring the new one was only 4gb , is there something else i have to change on the mother board to make it recognise the 30gb drive.

thank you

300mhz processor is not compatable to your Pentium II motherboard, it will not process any hard drive instalation It will not detect the hard drive.

You must change your processer to a Pentium II or perhaps greater.

Change all bios to its original settings.

It should work, I have a Pentium II with a compatible motherboard and a 40 ghz hard drive.
