What is scandisk

I cannot get ScanDisk to run in advanced mode....it restarts 10x.s then just freezes...

I close all programs out, disable my virus scanner and only thing running is IE...It keeps saying another program is interferring...what do I do now....

I do not know what safe mode is....I,m pretty new at computers

Can you help?

BTW......I have Incredimail...some have suggestted this has my computer messed up???

What you can do is press the power button on the machine, do not go through the normal shout down procedure when you power back up scandiks will automatically start, this will allow you to scan the disk without any problem.
