What must one do to have sound? What should I check to see if I have the right equipment?

Sound card that is compatible to your system.
Than check the sound properties.
START SETTINGS, open up CONTROL PANEL
Open up sounds, it will say sound properties.
Under SCHEMES, be sure to choose WINDOWS DEFAULT and apply.
Reveiw your MULTIMEDIA under your CONTROL PANEL.
All advance properties should be defaulted.
