Check your display properties

I would like to know can you tell me why my desktop icons turns white at times?

Check out your display properties on your computer Go to start, settings and control panel then you should see the type of desktop themes you would like, choose one that would best fit your computer enviroment, once you have done so, click apply and then click okay you should have everything back to normal.
