Veiwing flash animation

I am Having no luck viewing anything that requires using flash objects . whenever i try to view something all i get is a blank box and in the upper left hand corner is a box with 3 colored geometric symbols . I checked to see if i had inadvertantly deleted Macromedia Flash or tried to download it again and when i went to their site it would not download just the same blank square.

Downlaod the flash player not the program, go to IE-tools- Internet options-go to the advanced tab- scroll down to mutimedia and select play animations on web pages.
