Why the computer freezes when writing?

Writing freezes at times some times when I reboot it will start again but it is unpredictable. I have checked for viruses and run the compaq system quick restore disks but the problem continues. Any suggestions you can provide I will appreciate. Murphy

There are four reasons why this may happen The first is a dirty keyboard, which can cause spurious behavior in a number of ways The second is a resource conflict with another device The third is damage to the keyboard The fourth is a problem with the keyboard driver.
