Why do I get error messages about the clock on my computer and then it freezes up.

When I turn the power on the it display 2 messages "RTC mode fixed - time and date may be wrong.", "Time - of - day clock stopped." then the computer locks up. what is the problem and how can it be fixed?

RTC mode fix - time and date may be wrong, this means exactly what is stated, that you need to change the time and date on your computer The fact that your computer freezes up could be that you need to change the battery for the clock and check the settings to see if it set on auto mode which may be the cause of the computer freezing up Check your BIOS clock setting, make sure it is not set to auto time either.
