What error Msg?

I have a older hp pavilion xe783 mini tower that has an error. Error: An I/O subsystem driver failed to load. Either a file in the .\iosubsys subdirectory is corrupt, or the system is low on memory. System halted. I can boot up with a win 95 boot disk. When I do I can see all files in DOS on the hard drive But I can not get into win me. at a c prompt I type defrag scandisk and chkdsk and none of them work. Please help tks Keith

This issue can occur when the IOSubsys folder is damaged.

To resolve this issue, rename the IOSubsys folder, and then reinstall Windows ME.

Insert a Windows ME Startup disk, and then restart the computer to a command prompt.

At the command prompt, type c:, and then press ENTER.

Type cd\Windows\system, and then press ENTER.

Type ren iosubsys iosubold, and then press ENTER.

Reinstall Microsoft Windows ME.
