I built this computer and it was working fine for about a year and a half. Then suddenly the motherboard started to make three beeps and then an infinite beep. I tried to turn off the computer and it wouldn't. I shut it down and try to turn it back on. It would not turn back up. I narrow it down to changing the video card. It worked for a week and it shutted down again. I can not turn it back up. It makes those same three beeps and the infinite beep, but nothing shows in the screen. What can be wrong with it. I hope is not the mother board burning down the video cards. Or just the mother board going bad.

This is a pentium iii slot processor for a asus motherboard.

Please help..

Maybe you should try to see if the data cables have either come out of their place of are some how if the incorrect location If not then it's not the video card it must be your motherboard, inwhich you are going to need to change it but make sure that it's compatible with your hard drive and ram chips Carlos Millan Jr.
